The purpose of this page is to assist people new to cargo in the understanding of cargo types as a general knowledge reference.

Challenging Cargo

New to the verse, each of these commodities requires special handling.

Zeta-Prolanide is an industrial reactant chemical which has found widespread use in neutralizing irradiated materials. Due to its volatility it must be kept in an electrically charged state. It will lose integrity outside of containment, eventually leading to a rapid exothermic reaction. If you are moving multiple cargos, load this one last and unload it first if possible.

AcryliPlex Composite is a moldable material used in the construction of explosives. In addition to being commonly used in demolition applications for heavy industry and mining, it is also used to create small potent warheads. Care must be taken while transporting larger quantities of the composite as it is impact and heat sensitive.

Diluthermex is an extremely heat resistant epoxy often used in the mounting and repair of ship thrusters. It is considered very difficult to transport in its uncured state as it becomes explosively unstable when exposed to Chan-Eisen fields during quantum travel. Do not QT with this on board. Specialized containers must be used to safely transport the epoxy over long distances. Once set and cured, Diluthermex is no longer reactive.

Halogen Gases

Astatine is a dangerously radioactive, highly unstable halogen. Some of its isotopes have half-lives of one second or less. However, currently the unstabilty of this gas is not impacted in any way by transport.

Chlorine is a light halogen gas with a high electron affinity and a yellow-green tone at room temperature.

Fluorine is a toxic and highly reactive gas that appears pale yellow in its natural state. Very easily forms compounds with almost all other elements.

Iodine is the heaviest stable halogen. Sublimes from a purple-black metallic solid into a violet gas.

Metals

Agricium is a rare and valuable silvery metal with a blue-green sheen. Malleable, ductile, and largely non-reactive.

Aluminum is a chemically reactive, grey metal that is malleable, lightweight, ductile, strong, and resistant to corrosion. Capable of superconductivity.

Titanium is a silver-colored chemical element is excellent at producing strong, lightweight alloys.

Tungsten is used in many different alloys. It’s pure form becomes malleable while maintaining its hardness.

Gold is a commonly found ductile metal favored for its conductivity. Though it falls in and out of fashion, it is often used for decorative purposes as well.

Minerals

Diamond is an allotrope of the element carbon, forming over billions of years under high heat and pressure. They are extremely hard and thermally conductive.

Laranite is a somewhat radioactive, crystalline gemstone. Black with streaks of dark red, it can only be used as jewelry if shielded.

Corundum is the crystalline form of aluminium oxide. Used as a gem. Varieties include ruby, sapphire, and padparadscha.

Quartz is a chiral crystal composed of silicon and oxygen that can be found in a wide variety of forms and colors.

Titanium is a silver-colored chemical element is excellent at producing strong, lightweight alloys.

Taranite is extremely conductive, this mineral was first discovered when a researcher noticed a breed of electrosensitive hermit crab using pieces of it to form its shell.

Waste

Waste is unwanted and unusable materials that are designated to be discarded.

Agricultural Supplies

Agricultural supplies are items required for agricultural production. Includes fertilizers, feed, and pesticides.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. The building block of stars (and gas planets). It is a highly flammable, colourless gas.

Medical supplies is a variety of items produced primarily to treat injury or illness.

Vice

Altruciatoxin is a drug. Created by chemically processing the pollen of Revenant Tree. Common effects of ingesting or smoking altruciatoxin include relaxing of the muscles, sensory enhancement, and lethargy. Heavy usage can cause staining of the tongue.

SLAM is a drug most commonly ingested as a gas. Vials of SLAM are cracked and inhaled. Initially developed as a performance enhancer for athletes, SLAM targets the user's nervous system acting as a fear-inhibitor and painkiller.

WiDoW is a thick ink-black synthetic opioid that is injected as a liquid. Designed to be injected as a liquid directly into the bloodstream, the name derived from one of the main side effects from extensive use, the drug stains the veins black, creating web-like subcutaneous patterns through the body.

E'tam is a drug and herb of Xi'an origin, with an appearance similar to dried green tea leaves; green and granular. It is used by the Xi'an to slow body function and focus in order to achieve a deeper meditative state.

Maze is a narcotic-acting tranquilizer and hallucinogen with a bark-shaped appearance. It is believed to be of Xi'an origin. Due to the high potency of the substance, an injection can kill a user immediately, as such the drug is typically ingested.

Neon is a 'club drug similar to ecstasy', which affects the nervous system and acts slightly hallucinogenic.

Distilled spirits is a purified beverage produced through the distillation of fermented substances.

Revenant Tree pollen is the pollen of the Revenant Tree extracted from its Pods.

Stims are composed of various combinations of tobacco, caffeine, and mood-enhancer, stims are smoked as a cigarette.
