The foundational ethos of this unit is that one crew, one ship, and the right combination of skills can tackle a wide variety of missions without changing personnel, vessel, or onboard complement.
Our crews train for independent operations beyond the reach of support and in hostile environments alike. While prepared for combat, we favor careful planning, diplomacy, stealth, and ingenuity in the face of adversity. The fight is the last tool, not the first.

Parasite Operators fly snubships, move wheeled/tracked ground vehicles, and ride gravlev bikes. Whether forming a defensive screen or probing out into the unknown as scouts, these individuals are at the heart of every Discovery Operation.
This training program pulls from a myriad of VNGD’s other training programs to form the Ordinance Team Specialist path. Members of the Ordinance Team operate weapon stations, develop targeting solutions, and keep munitions coming when the magazine runs dry.
This training program pulls from a myriad of VNGD’s other training programs to form the Away Team Specialist path. Members of the Team are Discovery’s “ground-pounders” - if there’s a firefight to be had, they’re the ones in the thick of it. On the ground, in low/zero gravity, or even on board hostile ships, the Away Team completes the objective.

This training program pulls from a myriad of VNGD’s other training programs to form the Helmsman Specialist path. The Helmsman guides ships through asteroid fields, docking bays, and uncharted space. They manage thrust, altitude, and jump coordinates, steering the crew toward unexplored systems and safely through unfamiliar terrain. A skilled Helmsman can spot a promising route, navigate hazards, and keep the vessel steady under fire—because every new frontier brings its own dangers.
