The Multi-crew Combat Unit
A Unit is a Wing’s operational sub-formation — a squadron, flight, or battery with its own specializations, chain of command, progression path, and comms.
Defiant is the multicrew combat unit of Security Wing. Our charge is simple: if a combat ship takes three or more crew to fight at its best, it’s a Defiant ship. Gunship or capital hull, today’s flagship or whatever comes out of the yards next year — if it has stations to fill, we put a trained crew in them.
A warship isn’t the guns it mounts or the armor it wears. Solo-piloted, an Idris is just a target — an expensive wreck waiting to happen. A hull becomes truly dangerous when the crew inside it moves as one thing: the helm holding the firing line steady, the gunners talking targets, the engineer buying back power nobody thought was left, the captain thinking three moves ahead of all of it.
That crew is what we build.
In Defiant you’ll learn to helm warships through fire, put rounds on target with the biggest guns in the ’verse, and keep an engine room alive while the hull screams — and climb, station by station, toward a chair of your own. You’ll lose some ships. You’ll win more. And you’ll share every one of those stories with some of the finest crew you’ll ever fly with.
1. Show up ready to crew. Any station you’re certified on, you may be asked to man.
2. The ship fights as one crew. The captain’s call stands; debate belongs in the debrief.
3. Keep your certifications current, and always be working toward your next station.
4. Protect the hull and the people in it. Kills come second.
5. Report readiness honestly. A missing engineer scrubs a sortie; a silent one sinks it.
