A Joint Capital Ship Operation Deploying Four Capital Ships to Patrol Stanton
In the midst of darkness, light persists.

Magellan and Pegasus โ two of Discovery's Carracks โ rendezvoused with the Hammerhead from Defiant and the 890 Jump from Benevolence. At peak, 29 to 30 Vanguardians crewed the four hulls across the various ships. The plan was straightforward: deploy to a live server, respond to player beacons and bounties, and project force.
With the fleet assembled, a group photograph was taken โ four capital ships side by side, their running lights carving lines through the black. The formation announced itself in global chat, then set a heading.
MISSION OBJECTIVES
Fleet assembly and coordinated launch
All four capital ships achieved formation. Group photo taken.
Respond to player beacons and active bounties
CIG technical issues forced EU server relocation. Beacon activity negligible.
Save Stanton event response
Four capital ships redeployed. Haulers protected. Hostiles neutralized.
The primary mission objective did not survive first contact โ with CIG, not the enemy. Multiple technical issues delayed a clean start, and the server migration landed the fleet on an EU instance in the middle of its server's night cycle. Player beacons were scarce. Bounties, scarcer still. The fleet held formation and waited.
Our biggest enemy for this event was stability. Multiple technical issues kept us from getting a clean start, and some time was lost coordinating everyone's launches.
Operational Command Solfire_68 made the call. With beacons scarce and the fleet idle, the order came down: redirect to Save Stanton events. The pivot required minimal coordination โ a testament to the crew's training. Four capital ships descended on distress calls, pouring firepower into hostile contacts threatening civilian haulers. The bad guys were thwarted. Friendly fire was minimal. The fleet performed.
Most personnel deployed on this operation were trained in SRS โ Vanguard's shared radio system. The Save Stanton pivot, executed with minimal prior coordination, demonstrated how SRS enables real-time adaptability across multi-ship formations.
If you haven't trained and practiced with SRS, Discovery events are always open for new attendees.
Light in the Darkness was planned for weeks and named for Quantum_Physicist's speech at the November promotions.
When servers handed us lemons, Solfire_68 made lemonade โ and four capital ships made short work of Save Stanton's worst night.
The fleet held.
The crew performed.
The server noticed.
