Welcome to the Vanguard Initiative Scouting Observation Report (VISOR) training. In this course you will learn how to make basic contributions to the VISOR system when you encounter a new unmarked Point of Interest (POI) or wish to expand on our information database about a known POI. VISOR System Basic II will cover additional more complex topics.
Upon completing this course you can expect to:
Record navigation data to allow return to a POI using advanced navigation techniques.
Be proficient at the collection of other core site data including screenshots, environmental factors, and presence of key services.
Identify ongoing threats that future visitors should have awareness of.
Understand the order of importance in data collection as well as the submittal process.
Authenticate as a Vanguard member to access lessons, track progress, and earn certifications.
