Intermediate Flight Maneuvers

Certifies that the holder can fly a single-seat fighter to an intermediate standard in combat.

Covers turning in pitch and using roll to place the turn, recognizing when to press a shield advantage and when to disengage, nose-on evasion to reduce the target you present, and strafing to hold an opponent’s pip.

Assessed by 1v1 duels against an instructor, who creates the situations the trainee is expected to recognize and answer.
